DBC Counseling is a dream come true for me! I have always wanted to own my own practice. I have worked for over 23 years in the field of psychology. Presently, I am a school counselor during the day and I work as a therapist in the evenings. Before working in education, I was a corporate trainer and guest speaker providing workshops on various psycho-educational topics to adults and adolescents. I was also employed by Bell Labs in Holmdel as an organizational consultant.
Educational Background: I received my master’s degree in Psychological Counseling from Monmouth University, as well as a Master’s Degree in Personnel Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University. My undergraduate degree is in Computer Science from Rutgers University.
My personal experience in raising two children and supporting my kids through their journey into adulthood has helped me understand children and the parents’ role in their development.
Being a parent has helped me to realize everyone is doing their best, and that compassion is always the best response when someone is struggling. When working with clients I strive to help them to become more self compassionate, through the lens of self compassion a person can change their experiences and relationships for the better.
I spend my spare time with family and friends, traveling, riding my bicycle, watching movies, going to concerts and reading.
